WESTFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - More than 90 Springfield area foster children, most of them hispanic, yearn to be adopted by a loving family.
On Saturday afternoon dozens of couples gathered at the Westfield Boy's & Girl's Club to meet the children who might one day be part of their families.
Couples traveled from all across Massachusetts and as far away as New York.
Tony and Glenna Thompson from Burlington, Massachusetts told 22News they are ready to become adoptive parents. "The whole process has some anxiousness about it. But I think we're dealing with it. We're pretty well excited you know," said Glenna.
The agency that arranged for this adoption party sees more and more foster children who need to be adopted. The numbers grow larger every year.
Michelle Morales from New York state is looking to adopt a hispanic child or teenager. "I've only been married for two years. We have no children, this would be it."
The children keep waiting and hoping that maybe of the couples will provide them with a good, permanent, loving home.
