Amherst parade celebrates 250 years

AMHERST, Mass. (WWLP) - Everyone in Amherst loves a parade, especially one that's been in the making for past 250 years.

Judging by the size of the crowd on Sunday, not many missed the chance to attend the parade celebrating in grand style the 250th anniversary of the town of Amherst.

"Amherst has a rich history and it's just great to see the community getting together and it's going to be a big deal," said resident Mark Cacek.

The parade organizers rewarded Amherst residents for the pride they show in their community with a spectacular parade that you might say comes along once every two hundred and fifty years.
