In Chicopee, the city will keep the Fairview swimming pool between 1:00 and 5:00 p.m. because of the heat wave. You can contact the Chicopee Parks Department at 413-594-3481 for information and exact times the pool will be open the rest of the week.

The hot and humid conditions also forced the state Department of Environmental Protection to issue an unhealthy air quality warning, citing elevated fine particle readings. Click here for more information on the Air Quality Alert that was issued for Hampden County through noon on Tuesday.

Western Massachusetts is expected to experience sunny, hot and humid conditions over the next few days. Click here for the latest 22News Storm Team Weather Discussion & Webcast.
