CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) - On Saturday cars were honking their horns along Chicopee's
Memorial Drive to show their patriotism on Armed Forces Day.
The demonstration of support for America's troops still in
harms way overseas didn't go unnoticed among the numerous drivers
who saluted these men and women as they drove by.
Shirley Nomakeo, the organizer of this show of support for
the troops told 22News, those who fight for their country are too
often overlooked. "We feel we know that the climate isn't always
(honk, honk) hey, isn't best for our troops we just wanted them to
know that we appreciate their support and it's because of them
we're able to be out here and do things like this," said Nomakeo.
The Armed Forces Day event in Chicopee was one of several
held throughout western Massachusetts.
