SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Children under age 13 will not be allowed as visitors at three major Pioneer Valley hospitals starting on Wednesday due to swine flu concerns.

Baystate Medical Center's Public Affairs Manager Ben Craft told 22News Baystate is enacting a new flu season visitor's policy.

Starting Wednesday, November 4, there will be no visitors under age 13 allowed at all Baystate hospitals. There will also only be two visitors at time recommended per patient. Visitors should be limited to those essential to the patient's comfort and well-being.

These changes are for Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, Franklin Medical Center in Greenfield, and Mary Lane Hospital in Ware, as well as for all of Baystate's outpatient facilities.
