Biker rescued from woods in Montague

Chicopee woman used her cell phone to call police

MONTAGUE, Mass. (WWLP) - A 42 year-old Chicopee woman is safe after losing her way in the woods of Franklin County.

Montague Police Sgt. Charles Dodge told 22News Anne Hassel was mountain biking in a thick wooded area between Wendell Road and North Leverett Road in Montague Monday night.

She called police for help from her cell phone just after 7 o’clock. It took multiple rescue agencies over four hours to find her. She was found just after 11 o’clock uninjured.

One fireman did suffer a foot injury during the rescue and had to be taken to the hospital.
