PALMER, Mass. (WWLP) - A charge of reckless endangerment of a child has been dropped
against East Longmeadow's School Superintendent Edward Costa.
Acting Clerk Magistrate of Palmer District Court Jane Filpek
told 22News that the charge was dropped on Thursday morning.
Costa
was charged with risk of injury to a minor after he allegedly
told an 11 year-old special needs student to walk home in May of
2009.
In a statement to 22News earlier this week the Superintendent
vowed to fight the charges vigorously and said he was committed to
helping children and families in education.
Costa will be leaving his post on December 1 after 12 years
on the job.
