CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) - Chicopee held a touching tribute this Memorial Day for service men and women, both past and present.
A parade from Springfield Street to Fairview Avenue converged at the Chicopee Veterans' Memorial Plaza to honor service and sacrifice.
The tribute and moderate turnout was emotional for families with loved ones still fighting. It's also special for families who lost loved ones to battle like Gold Star Mother, Lydia Maloney -- whose son Captain John Maloney, was killed in 2005.
The family of Kevin Dupont, who was recently badly burned in combat, was also honored at the ceremony.
