Church holds free community barbeque

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Dozens came out Saturday to enjoy a free meal at a community barbeque.

Christ Community Church sponsored this inclusive community event inviting all residents to mix and mingle over good food, music and company.

The event was free encouraging more people to come out and join the festitivites. "We dont know what you're going through and we don't know where you've been but you're welcome here," said Christ Community Church Pastor Elise Elrod.

Pastor Elrod hopes the event helps people get through hard times.
