PALMER, Mass. (WWLP) - From now on office seekers in the town of Palmer will have to compete with partisans of a different kind: those demonstrating both for and against a resort casino in their town.
A group called the Pioneer Valley Jobs Coalition made its views known Saturday afternoon with a placard carrying demonstration in support of the casino question. They took up positions downtown and near the Massachusetts Turnpike.
One passerby who's for the casino told 22News, the demonstrators made a good impression on him.
We can expect people to take advantage of many future opportunities for both sides to sound off on this highly controversial casino issue in the months ahead.
