Springfield, Mass. (WWLP) - The local community isn't giving up without a fight, after reports that a beloved local hopsital may be closing. A rally will be held later today to support the Shriners Hospital for Children in Springfield.
Last month, the hospital announced due to dwindling donations, it may be forced to close. The local landmark has been around since the 1920s and employs 200 area residents and they're not going out without a fight.
The rally will take place at the Boys and Girls Club on Carew Street from 2 to 4 today. A vote is scheduled in July regarding the future of the facility.
