Disaster averted in Hatfield
Intense garage fire doused with fast response

HATFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Disaster was averted in Hatfield on Tuesday night thanks to the quick response of the Hatfield Fire Department.
At 6:30pm at 68 Prospect Street, a garage fire broke out. Deputy Chief Johnathan Bardwell told 22News the fire was so intense it melted the siding off of two homes.
Whately and South Deerfield Fire Departments also responded to provide mutual aid.
Luckily, the flames were doused before the fire could do serious damage to the surrounding homes.
Bardwell said the fire may have been accidental. No one was injured.
