SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Just two weeks away from Thanksgiving, it was an Indian Summer Sunday.
Temperatures climbed to 69-degrees in Westfield, rendering jackets useless.
22News found that most residents who threw on a sweater, had it wrapped around their midriff by mid-day.
Springfield's Forest Park bustled with residents like Lev Shatz of Enfield Ct., who was eager to relive his summer days from a few months ago.
"It's a beautiful day for relaxation, beautiful day to look at the beauty of the day. Beautiful day to relax, forget about your problems."
Springfield resident Maria Rodriguez couldn't agree more.
"Such a beautiful day, especially in November. We just want to go for a walk, we love coming to Forest Park."
Usually, the unpredictable New England weather doesn't work to the advantage of the Pionner Valley but today was certainly an exception.
"That's New england for you. You never know what to expect around here, so you've got to take advantage of it while you can," said Joseph Bagge.
An uncommonly mild Sunday in western Massachusetts made Sunday a day to remember.
And the near future is not all gloom and doom. Storm Team Meteorologist Adam Strzempko says that Monday will be just as nice, if not even a bit better.
