Four high school lacrosse players and one assistant coach face game suspensions after a fight sent three people to the hospital in Northampton on Wednesday.
It happened at the Northampton High School athletic fields after a lacrosse game with West Springfield.
According to the police report, West Springfield players allege the fight started after a Northampton assistant coach directed a racial slur at their goalie.
Northampton Police Lt. Michael Patenaude told 22News that said players, coaches, and parents all participated in the fight.
According to the police report, head referee Barry Drucker suspended two members of each team for one game.
Lt. Patenaude quoted the referee as saying he'd suspended the Northampton Assistant Coach for one game for using a racial slur.
Three people were taken to Cooley Dickinson Hospital for treatment for minor injuries. No charges have been filed so far.
