SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Do you know your HIV status?
In recognition of Men's Health Week, Tapestry Health is offering free and confidential HIV testing at two locations in Springfield.
Tapestry's mobile health van was at Magazine Park Tuesday.
Participants can take an oral swab test with results available in 20 minutes.
Organizers say that this type of outreach program provides needed contact for the most vulnerable people in the community.
Adam Hughes of Tapestry Health Outreach and Community Services said, "Increase the number of people tested and people who know their status, so that if they are reactive or positive, we can get them into proper care."
Free testing and counseling continue Wednesday.
The Tapestry Health van will be at the Springfield YMCA on Chestnut Street from 1 to 5PM.
The program is funded by the Massachusetts Department of Public Health.
