SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Thursday marked a fund raiser for a local organization that gives young girls a boost of self-confidence.
500 people turned out for a breakfast at the Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield to help raise money for Girls Inc.
The non-profit organization helps girls between ages 5 and 18 become more secure and confident about themselves.
"The program has changed my life. It's inspired me to do new things, not to be afraid to come of the box of who I really am. I like to show others who I am and I'm not afraid to speak out for other people," said Natasha Wilson of Girls Inc.
Girls Inc. hoped to raise $100,000 at the event. Money raised will go toward programs for the girls involved with the agency.
