AGAWAM, Mass. (WWLP) - It's a tradition that started more than one hundred years ago where women would decorate grave stones of fallen heroes.
Today that sign of appreciation continued in Agawam. Song, prayer and appreciation were done for those men and women who have fought and who are fighting right now.
Governor Deval Patrick was among several elected officials who spoke during the Memorial Day Ceremony at the Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery in Agawam.
Family members who have loved ones at the cemetery and visit here often told 22News that Americans should stop and thank the troops more often.
