HADLEY, Mass. (WWLP) - Fire investigators in Hadley believe a faulty sign may have
sparked an overnight fire at a car wash.
It happened just before 2:00 a.m. at the Golden Nozzle Car
Wash at 456 Russell Road.
Assistant Fire Chief Ed Dudkiewicz said when firefighters
arrived the front of the building was fully engulfed in flames.
Dudkiewicz told 22News the fire may have started in the 'Golden
Nozzle' sign above the exit.
Mutual aid was called in from neighboring communities
including Northampton, Amherst and South Hadley. No one was injured
in the fire.
Frank Roberts, the Director of the Golden Nozzle, told 22News
the damage appears to be mainly to the exterior of the building. He
hopes to have the car wash up and running in the next few weeks.
