HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) -
Holyoke Health
Center got a financial boost Monday to help serve the needs of
local uninsured residents.
Officials from
Blue Cross
Blue Shield of Massachusetts presented Holyoke Health Center a
check for more than 72-thousand dollars.
The grant will be used to fund the center's first year
efforts to serve uninsured and newly insured residents in need of
primary health care services. "We feel that it's going to be
helpful for our patients who are under served and have no
insurance," said Miriam Santana, Assistant Clinical Director at
Holyoke Health Center.
In the first year of the project,
Holyoke Health
Center anticipates serving over 1,000 residents of greater
Holyoke and Chicopee.
