HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) - The student roll call at one area school reads like a map of the world. That's why the Holyoke Community Charter School holds an international day every year to celebrate all the different places their students come from.
"We definitely celebrate everyone's culture here. You know when you step in the doors, the flag's of the countries that are representative of our students are draped in the hallway greeting everyone. We embrace cultures, we embraces languages we embrace what the world is," said Gloria Urbina of Holyoke.
The community charter school has a large Hispanic enrollment along with students from Asian and Russian backgrounds.
