HUNTINGTON, Mass. (WWLP) - A Westifeld firefighter was killed at 7:30pm Saturday when his motorcycle collided with a car in the town of Huntington.
Huntington Police Chief Paul Garieppy told 22News the accident happened County Road near Route 112.
The accident victim, Glen Walz, was a 12-year veteran of the Westfield Fire Department.
A medical team pronounced him dead at the scene.
Westfield Fire Chief William Phelan told 22News, Glen Walz is survived by his wife and two teenage sons.
Funeral arrangements have not been announced.
Chief Phelan told 22News, the fire department has set up a
memorial fund for the Walz family. Contributions should be sent to
United Cooperative bank at 10 Elm Street in Westfield, care of the
Westfield Firefighters Assistance fund.
