SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - A 23-year-old man was shot dead in Springfield's North End on Thursday. Police are still looking for the gunman.
It happened around 6:30 p.m. in front of Christopher's Package Store, on the corner of Main and East Hooker streets.
Springfield Police Sergeant John Delaney told 22News, the 23-year-old victim of Springfield was shot once in the chest. He was pronounced dead at Baystate Medical Center.
Police are withholding his name until family members are notified.
Sergeant Delaney says detectives believe the shooting was drug related.
