SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - A new poll reveals more women worry about their weight than their overall physical health.
According to an Associated Press poll, half of women surveyed said they do not like their weight, versus just 33-percent who said they are concerned about their overall health.
Dr. John Romanelli is Director of Bariatric Surgery at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield and says weight should be associated with health.
Dr. Romanelli contends overweight people deal with high blood pressure, diabetes, and acid reflux, while underweight people risk hair loss, cavities in their teeth and lower bone density.
He says women should eat right and exercise regularly and avoid looking at numbers on a scale.
