Neighbor spots apartment fire

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - A stranger across the street spotted a fire and saved a Springfield family more heartache.

The family lived in the second floor apartment at 27-29 Palm street in the Forest Park neighborhood.

That stranger who was helping neighbors move, told 22News he was apparently in the right place at the right time.

We're moving the stuff out of the house when I started to smell a little smoke.

"We looked over and we saw smoke coming out of the 2nd floor, so I called 9-1-1 to see what they could do," said Samuel Jusino of Springfield.
