Five of the nine Town Council members in Palmer have lined up behind building a casino in that town. They've written letters of support for a casino.

Paul Burns, the Vice President of the Town Council, told 22News that they will present those letters to legislative leaders on Thursday at a State House hearing on casino gambling.

Mohegan Sun has proposed to build a resort casino in Palmer. However, the state has not yet given approval to casino gambling in Massachusetts.
