A Western Massachusetts Regional High School makes quite a name for itself training the robotic engineers of the future.
When 22News stopped by on Saturday, Pathfinder Vocational Technical High School in Palmer was busy hoisting the State Robotics championship. The Pathfinder program that started two and a half years ago is already getting worldwide recognition. There was even a team from Troneheim, Norway competing.
Teaching students how to build and maneuver robots has been Eric Duda's brainchild. Robotics got off the aground when Duda began teaching engineering. He tells 22News that it involved a lot of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, that's a lot to bring together in the engineering field. It's been tough for the students it's something they're willing to rise to the occasion to.
And it's not just a matter of taking part in competition. Duda's students told 22News, they're convinced robotics is the wave of the future.
Creative kids who did well in the Pathfinder competition continue their quest for excellence at the world class competition in Atlanta, Georgia.
