CHICOPEE, Mass. (WWLP) - A local police department is teaming up with some former
football stars for a great cause.
Chicopee police officers, patrolmen and detectives are
hitting the
Gridiron with former Patriots players this
weekend.
They practiced Wednesday for Saturday's 4pm game at Szot
Park. The annual event is a fundraiser for Lorraine's Soup Kitchen.
"Trying to help out as much as possible. This way hopefully
we get to fill the pantry a little and give them a head start for
the holiday," said Chicopee Police Detective Jim Gawron.
The football game is sponsored by the Local 401 Patrolmen's
Union.
