HOLYOKE, Mass. (WWLP) - Holyoke Police say they have three suspects in custody after
leading police on a chase through five blocks of the city. Police
are now trying to figure out if the suspects opened fire on police.
It happened in neighborhoods surrounding Sergeant Street.
Police say the chase started after a black Nissan Maxima refused to
pull over for police.
Holyoke Police Sergeant Daniel Reardon tells 22News they were
assisted by the State Police Helicopter and K-9 Dog units.
Police say they're searching for evidence that the suspects
were carrying guns after pursuing officers say it looked like the
suspects were carrying something, and neighbors say they heard gun
shots.
One resident in the neighborhood says its troubling to find
out there may have been gunfire. "They're in harms way, some heard
gun shots over there, the parents are in the house, they didn't
know whats going on either so just thinking about the kids at the
time ya know," said Melvis Romero of Holyoke.
This incident is still under investigation. All three men are
in custody.
