PALMER, Mass. (WWLP) - A new poll suggests a solid majority of Palmer residents support
a proposed casino in their town.
The survey by the UMass Dartmouth Center for Policy Analysis
found 60 percent of Palmer voters are in favor of a casino to town.
The survey showed strong support among people of all genders
and age groups and all political preferences.
Despite the fact that casino gambling isn't yet legal in
Massachusetts, the Mohegan Tribe has proposed building a casino on
Thorndike Street right off the Mass Turnpike.
