Scholarship awarded to local student

BELCHERTOWN, Mass. (WWLP) - Paying for college just got a little easier for one Belchertown student.

Belchertown High School Senior Sarah Minney received a $5,000 college scholarship today during her graduation rehearsal.

She's the winner of the Ronald McDonald House Charities Scholars Program.

Minney was selected from over 600 scholarship applicants.

"It means my parents won't have to take out loans, and I won't have to pay for books, so it will be good," said Minney.

This scholarship program recognizes students for their academic achievement, community involvement, and financial need.
