SOUTHWICK, Mass. (WWLP) - A Southwick Selectman was allegedly caught smoking a joint in Springfield.

Springfield Police Sgt. John Delaney told 22News David St. Pierre was sitting in a car with a 22-year-old Springfield man smoking pot at the Walgreens on Armory Street.

St. Pierre works as a Corrections Officer for the Hampden County Sheriff's Department.

Sgt. Delaney says St. Pierre was wearing his sheriff's uniform when he was cited for possessing marijuana.

The Boland School is just feet away from this alleged incident where there's a sign saying no drugs.

We called the Hampden County Sheriff's Department to find out if this will impact his employment.

They told us they deal with these matters on a case-by-case basis.
