SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Some big names in basketball are in town for Enshrinement Day at the Basketball Hall of Fame.

This year's high-profile class includes Michael Jordan, David Robinson and John Stockton, coaches Jerry Sloan and C. Vivian Stringer. The members attended the annual reunion dinner at the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame on Thursday night.

Friday night's ceremony was moved to Symphony Hall this year to accommodate the legions of fans expected to turn out. Symphony Hall seats more than 2,600, where as the Hall of Fame can only accommodate about 1,200 people.

Even if you don't have tickets, which went for thousands of dollars, you can still be part of the action. There are free events Friday afternoon at the MassMutual center where a pep rally will kick off at noon with the Class of 2009.

The Hall of Fame also dedicated "Tyler's Court" at William N. DeBerry Elementary School in Springfield on Thursday as part of the enshrinement events. That court was made possible by the Tyler Ugolyn Foundation -- just one of 21 western Mass residents killed in the terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center on Sept. 11, 2001 – eight years ago today.
