Springfield's library director retires

The director of the Springfield Public Library is moving on to a new chapter in her life.

Library Director Emily Bader has retired after 36 years of service to the residents of the city of Springfield.

Bader was appointed Library Director in 1994 and continuously promoted the value of reading and libraries to the community.

Springfield Mayor Domenic Sarno announced Wednesday that Assistant Library Director Molly Fogarty has been named Interim Library Director.

The city is in the process of creating a job posting for a new Library Director.
