AMHERST, Mass. (WWLP) - Lying is part of society, both common and accepted. Those are
the conclusions of UMass psychology professor, Robert Feldman in
his new book, "The Liar in Your Life."
Feldman writes that we are bad at detecting lies, and are
willing to accept lies in order to make our lives easier.
Heidi Irwin of Monson believes there is a lot of lying going
on. "I think it's probably easier for people to lie because they
don't feel as bad, maybe it's a moral thing you know peoples
standards of morality are lower than in the past."
In his book, Feldman writes that we are willing to accept
lying because it takes a lot of work to identify lying and
liars.
