SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WWLP) - Adults from 18 to 35 were invited to the Springfield State
Building Wednesday night. They took part in one of a series of
meetings called by the Patrick-Murray administration to hear young
adults' concerns.
It was a meeting designed to hear the concerns of a sometimes
under-served population.
One participant talked about the need for better
transportation to and from local college campuses and surrounding
neighborhoods, and other higher education obstacles.
"People can't pursue education and pay full rent. so
basically I want to make it a point to see if they can have an
education housing project together, where students can live in
affordable housing," said Anellyse Gonzalez of Springfield.
The Patrick-Murray administration is planning to host
another similar meeting with young adults at UMass Amherst towards
the end of October.
