(WWLP) - Research shows a growing number of Americans are identifying
themselves as non-religious.
Experts say many people are becoming skeptics but not out
right atheists.
A new survey by Trinity College shows that within 20 years, a
quarter of Americans will claim no religious affiliation.
Some local residents told 22News they agree with the findings
while others say they believe spirituality is still very much
alive.
"The amount of atheists is increasing and I think thats
related to technology changes and political changes," said Natan
Pakman of Northampton.
Colin Brown of Southampton disagrees, "I think people are
more religious now that they know how much its brings families
together, it brings alot of morals."
While some people said they were not religious, others
identified themselves as spiritual, but not belonging to a
church.
