BOSTON (AP) - New England mobster Stephen "The Rifleman" Flemmi has described watching his cohort James "Whitey" Bulger kill Flemmi's 26-year-old-girlfriend.

Flemmi said that on Sept. 17, 1981, he lured Debra Davis to a vacant home in South Boston, where Bulger was waiting.

Flemmi said he watched as Bulger strangled Davis.

Flemmi said he pulled out her teeth so her body would be difficult to identify.

Flemmi called the killing a "traumatic moment" in his life.

Flemmi's testimony came Friday in wrongful death lawsuits brought by Davis' family and the families of two other people allegedly killed by Bulger and Flemmi.

The families say the FBI is responsible for the deaths because it failed to control Bulger and Flemmi, who were longtime FBI informants.

Flemmi is serving a life sentence, Bulger is a fugitive.
