BOSTON (WWLP) - Gaming developers are sorting through the details of the casino license application process.
The first step of the process requires top gaming company officials to submit themselves to strict background checks. They are meeting with the Massachusetts Gaming Commission to find out which officials those should be.
Casino developers will be required to go through a vigorous background check in step one of the casino license application process. During a regular meeting, the gaming panel voted-in Commissioner Gayle Cameron to be the interim lead investigator of the background check process.
“This week, seven casino companies are sitting down with Gaming Commission consultants to figure out which company officials will have to go under the microscope,” Cameron said.
Casino developers will have until November 14 to request waivers from background checks in cases where company officials are not involved in gaming projects.
The Commission says the casino license application process is running on schedule. Step one of the two-step process is due January 15.
