FALMOUTH, Mass. (AP) - Authorities have confirmed that human bones found in the woods of Falmouth last week are the remains of a pregnant Nantucket woman who disappeared under suspicious circumstances nearly two years ago.
Cape and Islands District Attorney Michael O'Keefe said Tuesday that the medical examiner's office has determined that the bones are the remains of Trudie Hall and that she had been shot.
They were found Thursday by a man walking his dog.
The 23-year-old Hall disappeared in July 2010 after traveling from the island to Hyannis. Hall was four months pregnant with the child of a married man with a criminal record when she went missing. Police have questioned the man and searched his home.
Hall was married to two other men at the time. No one has been charged.
