BOSTON (WWLP) - Sixty-four Business leaders from the Greater Springfield area met face-to-face with some of the state’s most powerful figures at the State House Wednesday.

Among the leaders who spoke with western Massachusetts business leaders were Senate President Therese Murray (D-Plymouth), gaming commissioners Bruce Stebbins and Stephen Crosby, and Secretary Jay Gonzalez of the Office of Administration and Finance.
During the summit, Chief Justice of Administration and Finance Robert Mulligan raised some eyebrows when he said that he thinks there is a “level of evil” in Hampden County that is different from that of the rest of the state.
“The level of crime, I don’t know how to describe it, the level of evil in some of the criminal cases in Hampden County , you know it, because you read the paper everyday, it’s really different,” Mulligan said.
