FALL RIVER, Mass. (WHDH) - Police are searching for a robber after a confrontation with a store clerk in Fall River, Massachusetts.

The clerk hit the armed suspect with a baseball bat in an attempt to scare the suspect away.

Surveillance video inside Sunny's Convenience store shows the clerk jump up and react to the suspect's entry.

The clerk then threw his lunch and a jug of water at the suspect.

The clerk then grabbed an aluminum bat and hit the suspect in the arm.

"He kept asking to, 'give me money, give me money,' but the guy he didn't give up," said Brijesh Patel, the store's owner.

Patel, who owns the store, said the clerk called him right after the ordeal.

"We re-checked the camera, re-see everything," Patel said.

Patel said the clerk is 22 years old and has dealt with this kind of crime before.

The suspect was armed with a large kitchen knife.
