BOSTON (AP) - Massachusetts TV viewers are facing a new onslaught of TV ads as the U.S. Senate special election campaign, as the primary election gets closer.
The two Democrats in the race, congressmen Edward Markey and Stephen Lynch , both released their first TV ads of the campaign Tuesday.
Markey's focuses on his support of gun control measures and says he's one of the few in Congress willing to stand up to the National Rifle Association.
Lynch's is more introductory to voters who may not be familiar with him. It stresses his working-class roots in South Boston and his 18 years as a union ironworker before he went into politics.
Three Republicans are also seeking the seat formerly held by John Kerry. The primaries are set for April 30 and the special election for June 25.
