LYNN, Mass. (WWLP-WHDH) - Hundreds of people were evacuated from the headquarters of a Boston-area bank, following a fire and transformer explosion there.

Approximately 500 employees of Eastern Bank were evacuated from the bank's operations center in Lynn around 10:00 A.M. The explosion appeared to have been coming from the electrical room, witnesses told Boston NBC affiliate WHDH-TV. Photos from WHDH show a cloud of smoke or dust rising into the air following the blast, and they are reporting heavy smoke damage inside.

On Eastern Bank's Facebook page , the company says that there was an "electrical mishap" at their operations center, which may cause occasional outages for their phone and e-mail services.

There are no reports of any injuries, though several fire trucks and ambulances were called-in, WHDH reports.
