FRAMINGHAM, Mass. (AP) - A Framingham man is accused of hitting another man in the head with a hot frying pan so hard that it dented the metal.
Joseph Spencer was held on $500 bail Monday after pleading not guilty to assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
The 25-year-old Spencer was arrested Friday night after police responded to a Framingham home.
Police say Spencer was cooking hamburger for a woman, when another man entered the kitchen and got angry, claiming Spencer was cooking with his food. Spencer then allegedly used to the hot pan to hit the other man, who needed treatment at a hospital.
The MetroWest Daily News reports that Spencer's attorney said in court the pan was used in self-defense and there was no probable cause to arrest his client.
