Mass. mayors meet to discuss gun laws

BOSTON (WWLP) - In the wake of the Newtown School shooting, mayors from across the state are calling on Congress to take action to reduce gun-related violence.
 
Massachusetts already has some of the strictest gun laws in the nation, but on Thursday more than a dozen mayors from cities across the state met with Boston Mayor Thomas Menino to renew their push for even tighter gun laws.
  
22News found mixed reaction to their efforts.

“I don't think we need any more gun laws.  I think we need to enforce the ones we have already,” Jeff Fuller told 22News.

“I think we need to do more they're too accessible no one need a magazine to fire hundreds of bullets, Judy Kelly said.

One proposed new gun law would require that gun owners disclose their mental health histories and purchase liability insurance.
