(WWLP) - Former Governor, Mitt Romney will address the Republican National Convention on Thursday night, as he officially accepts his party's nomination for President.
Romney's nomination caps what is viewed by some as eight years of working toward this night.
Romney who was Governor in Massachusetts from 2003-2007 will get prime time network coverage of his speech at 10 p.m.
Kerry Healey, who served as Lt. Governor under Romney will also be getting some national exposure. She's on the speaking program for Thursday night. She'll speak in the hour before Romney accepts the nomination.
Healey has been out of the spotlight since losing her own bid for Governor in 2006.
Healey in her appearance before the Convention will be able to highlight and testify to what she and Romney see as his administration's accomplishments while Governor, says Springfield political consultant, Tony Cignoli.
Also speaking will be former Massachusetts Workforce Secretary Jane Edmonds.
Romney will be introduced by Florida Senator Marco Rubio.
