WELLFLEET, Mass. (WWLP) - Three more stranded dolphins were rescued Monday from a Cape Cod beach.
According to a news release from the International Fund for Animal Welfare, the dolphins were found stranded on a Wellfleet beach around 8:00 am Monday.
Rescuers were able to rescue the dolphins quick enough and they were released back into the ocean just a few hours later.
A satellite tag was fixed to one of the dolphin's fins so rescuers could track its location to see how it's doing.
Monday's rescue bring the total number of standings to 166.
Of those 166 dolphins, 106 were found dead. 60 were found alive
Of those 60 that stranded alive, 43 were re-released back into the ocean successfully.
