BOSTON, Mass. (AP) - Massachusetts Lt. Gov. Timothy Murray has been unanimously elected to lead the National Lieutenant Governors Association, a bi-partisan group made up of his colleagues from all 50 states and U.S. territories.

Murray was selected to serve as the association's chair Friday at the group's annual meeting in Chicago. He will serve in the role for one year.

As chair, he will lead the association's Executive Committee, which is responsible for determining the group's annual agenda. The committee also addresses areas of mutual concern among members.

The Democrat has said he will continue to make investing in transportation infrastructure, preventing foreclosures and promoting the National Guard top priorities of the association.

He is currently serving his second term as Massachusetts lieutenant governor after being re-elected with Gov. Deval Patrick in 2010.
