BOSTON (AP) - The Massachusetts Retirement Board has revoked former House Speaker Salvatore DiMasi' s $60,142 annual state pension.

The board had suspended DiMasi's pension in September after he was sentenced to serve eight years in federal prison for corruption. The board voted to revoke the pension Thursday.

DiMasi was convicted last year of steering state contracts to a software firm in exchange for payments of $65,000.

The 66-year-old DiMasi was diagnosed in April with cancer of the tongue and lymph nodes.

His lawyer did not immediately return a call seeking comment.
