ROCKPORT, Mass. (WWLP) - The reaction of a beachgoer’s dog is leading State Police to investigate a new area in the search for missing 2 year-old Caleigh Ann Harrison .
According to State Police spokesperson David Procopio, the dog had a strong reaction to some sort of scent at one area of Long Beach in Rockport Thursday afternoon.
The beach is where Harrison disappeared on April 19 . She was playing with her mother and four year-old sister when her mother turned away to fetch a ball. When her mother came back, Caleigh was gone. For weeks, police have been searching by land, air, and sea for the girl.
Procopio says that police tried to search the area found by the dog on Thursday afternoon, but they had to stop due to the coming tide. They will resume their search on Friday afternoon at 3:00, an hour before low tide.
